Our 2021 Annual Report is out

The year 2021 was marked by the continuation of the global Covid-19 pandemic and the related recovery efforts, which absorbed great amounts of both political attention and financial capacities. However, in the light of climate change, extreme weather events and disasters continue to increase and devastate the lives and livelihoods of many people globally and on a large scale.

Despite these ongoing global challenges, the Partnership’s progress has not slowed down, as the Annual Report 2021 elaborates on in detail in the InsuResilience at a Glance section. Here, you can find information on the state of play of all targets defined under the InsuResilience Vision 2025.

Our new Co-Chair of the High-Level Consultative Group (HLCG), Dr Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany, stated: “The InsuResilience Annual Report highlights the efforts and successes of our members and partners on the ground: the InsuResilience Global Partnership is currently active with 24 programmes in more than 100 countries. In 2021 alone, those programmes were able to provide 150 million vulnerable people with protection against climate risks! As Co-Chair for the InsuResilience High-Level Consultative Group, I am proud to be a part of this endeavour”.

Further, our newly elected HLCG Co-Chair, H.E. Minister Njie, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Republic of The Gambia, emphasizes: “In order to improve the effectiveness of the InsuResilience Global Partnership, we urge that we work together with a greater sense of urgency and a greater sense of opportunity to protect our communities and our economies. The approval of the Principles for Smart Premium and Capital Support is one of the major highlights of 2021 that can bring us one step closer to improving affordability. I invite you to take a look at the 2021 Annual Report for a detailed account of what has been achieved so far and encourage that we build upon this to handle the accelerating climate impacts in a highly effective and responsive way”.
