The InsuResilience’s focus topics facilitate the exchange of new ideas and expertise
Overview of the InsuResilience Focus Topics
The InsuResilience Global Partnership through its focus topics facilitates the exchange of new ideas and expertise between all its members.
The Secretariat encourages members to actively engage with core focus topics related to climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI) from academic and practical perspectives, such as capacity building, gender-responsiveness, innovation, new product development etc.
The results feed into the Partnership Forum and inform the High-Level Consultative Group (HLCG). To streamline these efforts and bundle respective member contributions, the Secretariat currently coordinates the following focus topics:
- Gender
- Integrated Approaches
- Impact
The groups working on focus topics are demand-driven and focus on themes that warrant more in-depth attention, drawing on the membership as well as individual experts.
These groups can develop principles, strategic approaches and technical concepts that can serve as orientation for the Partnership.
Gender
Recognising that women can be powerful agents of change when given access and control over resources, our gender group aims to integrate gender-smart action as a crosscutting objective in the Partnership’s commitment and activities, as reflected in the Vision 2025.
Integrated Approaches
The integrated approaches group aims to support the Partnership’s vision to embed risk finance and insurance in comprehensive risk management by generating and disseminating knowledge on new and existing approaches that integrate disaster risk financing / insurance elements with other risk management components.
Impact
The impact group is one of the Partnership’s technical groups. It is intended to form a consensus-minded advisory board on the Partnership’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) workstream.
