In light of recent developments concerning COVID-19, the InsuResilience Secretariat would like to assure members and friends of the InsuResilience Global Partnership that we are sensitive to the global situation gravely impacting our world. We see the threat that particularly impacts the poor and vulnerable community and acknowledge the changing circumstances that may greatly influence current developmental efforts.
We remain committed to our mandate to strengthen the resilience of developing countries and to protect the lives and livelihoods of poor and vulnerable people from the impacts of disasters. Furthermore, we are working with our members to better understand the direct and cascading effects of COVID-19 on the poor and vulnerable and to explore pragmatic and innovative approaches to overcome this unprecedented challenge.
As we continue to monitor the situation, and in keeping with the spirit of the Partnership, we will bring more evidence to light through the collective efforts and expertise of our partners to forge a pathway forward.
